Drip drop the rain falls down
My fingers drum against the wall
My heart is about to fall
Waiting for something to fill it
On this cloudy day
My head is in the mist
Spinning round and round
Loving the air
A blank canvas hangs on my wall
Hanging there a still as the night
Waiting for its life
A can of paint in the corner
The swirls of paint making a picture
Waiting to be spattered all over
A book under the bed
All dusty and unread
Waited to have it pages to be read
A speaker wanted to be heard
Sitting there as still as a stone
Waited for the BOOM of its speakers
A life being spent
Sitting in a corner
Waiting for someone to fill it
A room spinning round and round no one coming in or out
The misty air bringing the smell of spring in to my nose
Drip drop the rain stops
A rainbow appears the color lighting up the sky
The still room lights up as the sun shines
It is coming to life
The rain putters down my head
Like the blood of a survivor
The mist clears showing a day
A day of wonder
A day of hope
The canvas has been painted
With a heart
The room becomes brighter
My heart has been filled
To the rim
The speakers are booming
The book has been read
The room has become something
The wet sloppy rain has fallen
The survivor has survived
A poem from last year I edited it.

ReplyDeleteOkay, first of all, whoa. That's actually amazing. (You do know that, right?) Poetry is your thing. Not saying you have to write poetry, but you are really good at it. It honestly sounds professional, and that was my first thought..
