1/15/14

I think we should not have year round school because I think kids need time off to go to summer camp and hang out with friends and family. I think year round school is a bad idea because kids and teachers need a break.
Why I think this because studies show that test scores from year round schools and traditional schools are the same there is nothing different about it. I do not attended year round school but I think the experience would be hard and tiring and you would never get a break. Summer time helps kids to grow and mature.
Year-round school also costs parents more because usually the older kids stay home and watch the younger siblings but they can't with year round school. Summer gives kids a time to recharge their brains and get ready for a fresh start for the upcoming school year.
With year-round school, teenagers will no longer be available, making parents to use daycares that cost lots of money each hour.
For their parts, teenagers may also find that a summer job is not possible with year round school, leaving them without saving and spending money or money for college.  They are forced to working during the school year which may lower grades because of working during the school year.
Teachers who depend on summer jobs outside the school, they can't earn money and they will also lose money.
Because it appears that saving money cannot be guaranteed, I do not believe schools should change to a year-round calendar. (White, W. D. L"Year-round high schools: Benefits to students, parents, and teachers." NASSP Bulletin72 (1988, January). (504), 103-106. Online)
In conclusion year round school changes a lot in your summer schedule. Summer is to be enjoyed not spent in class rooms. (Anonymous Author)
